Our history
1948 – The Beginning
Founded as City Jewelers by E.N. and Ann Griner, our store began as a small, 30-foot shop on Avenue A, NW. While Mrs. Griner managed daily operations, Mr. Griner served as a flight instructor at Bartow Air Base until the store’s success allowed him to dedicate himself to the family business full-time.
The 2nd Generation
As the business and family grew, Phil Griner and Sharron Griner Owens stepped up to lead the company. Together, they owned and operated the store for 34 successful years, establishing the modern storefront at 195 Avenue A, NW in 1979.
2021 & Beyond – Carrying the Torch
In 2021, Phil’s daughter, Jill Griner Dunn, assumed ownership as the 3rd generation to lead Griner’s Jewelers. Today, Jill proudly upholds the values, integrity, and passion for service instilled by her grandparents, father, and aunt.
